A Taste of the Coast – Local Treasures in Namdalen

$apiData['content']['article']['title']

Namdalen is not just about nature – it is also a place where food traditions, craftsmanship and locally sourced ingredients are very much alive. Along the roads of the region you will find charming farm shops and country stores selling everything from locally produced goods: meat smoked in the traditional Namdalen way, home-baked sourdough bread, honey, cheese and farm-brewed beer you will not find anywhere else.

The drive along the Coastal Route offers plenty of opportunities to stop along the way. Kobi-butikken at Foldereid is a genuine old-fashioned village store brought back to life – here you will find cheese from Litlvea Farm and other local delicacies. In Abelvær, just 30 minutes from Kolvereid, you will find Jettestuen at Strandval Farm – a unique interior and gift shop set inside an old cowshed, with a summer café in season. If you venture further into the region, Leksås Gårdsmat in Grong is a must, with home-produced meat products, local beer and a selection you rarely see on ordinary shop shelves.

Here on the Namdalen Coast, local experiences are about close encounters – with the people behind the food, with the stories behind the products and with a region that takes great care of what it has. We are happy to help you find the best stops along your route.
