Namdalen – A Whole Region to Discover
Namdalen is Trøndelag's largest outdoor region – an area stretching from the magnificent Namdalen Coast in the west, through rich river deltas and lush cultural landscapes, all the way to wild mountain terrain along the Swedish border in the east. It is a region with room for everyone: families with children, adventurous cyclists, fishing enthusiasts and all those who want to experience Norway a little off the beaten track.
Along the coast from Flatanger in the south to the geological gem of Leka in the north, you will find white sandy beaches, fishing villages with centuries of history and an archipelago that invites island hopping, kayaking and deep-sea fishing. Namsos, the region's largest town, is known as the cradle of Trøndelag rock music and is home to cultural experiences, museums and Rock City – a living centre for music and heritage.
Head inland and three national parks await, along with the Namsen salmon river and a landscape that has barely changed in thousands of years. Here you can fish from the riverbank, hike through untouched mountain terrain or simply find your own little pocket of peace. Along the way, a stop at a local farm shop for regional food specialities is all part of the Namdalen experience.
Kolvereid Familiecamping sits right in the middle of all of this, and we are happy to help you plan a trip that suits you perfectly. Namdalen has more than enough to fill an entire holiday – and then some.
